B.K.S. Iyengar, Good or Not So Good (Google Doodle)

Because of all the ON BEINGS, I thought I would not SEND A POEM. But a kind of Vague Don’t Miss This.

I happen to love
Google Doodles.
Today’s especially appealing.

Although I would like
to add a qualifying sentence.
I always like to add
a qualifying sentence.
Not sure about B.K.S. Iyengar
although people I love
love him. Still he seems
so Life is Your Body
and If You Put Your Foot
Behind Your Head You
Are a Better Person.
Maybe. Maybe Not.

Let me tell you why I'm here, and why I hope you'll join me. I am here to poem, to play with words, to tell stories when I can, and to ask you for yours. Words are what I love, how I see, and what I say. Words are how I know my life, and how I find my friends. I'm here to ask you to join me. Right here. To send me your stories, and your poems. And to read mine when you can.

  1. Thanks for sending me to the Google Doodle about Iyengar. I read your poems everyday. As a yoga enthusiasts, I must say that it is not the foot behind the head, but the foot heading towards the head, where ever it reaches, may be different each day. Its about the journey.

  2. I understand why you’d feel that way from seeing pictures of him, but Iyengar yoga is actually much more “accepting” of the body than many other types of yoga. It is enormously therapeutic when practiced with care and is ideal for people who can’t make their feet and heads meet! So you can let go and enjoy the Doodle!!
