Abated by Death

I wrote a mystery once murder in Anguilla both murder and murderer

revealed on page one and  I described

for the length of the novel not really a murder mystery a couple who uncovered

the reason why.   Lovers in their eighties Anguillan man Irish woman

beautiful both of them they could continue solving murders for a while but my agent

thought No.  Last night at dinner a lawyer told the story

of a case of hers what a case she said Abated by Death

those words so perfect for the title of a murder so perfect even

for a poem made me want to try murder again.

Let me tell you why I'm here, and why I hope you'll join me. I am here to poem, to play with words, to tell stories when I can, and to ask you for yours. Words are what I love, how I see, and what I say. Words are how I know my life, and how I find my friends. I'm here to ask you to join me. Right here. To send me your stories, and your poems. And to read mine when you can.
